Tiny Houses

For the past year or so, I've been seeing pictures of tiny houses everywhere! I always liked the idea, but though "I'd never be able to live in a tiny house!" AND THEN I REALIZED I LIVE IN A TINY HOUSE. Well, apartment technically. We live in a bachelor apartment that's smaller then most tiny houses i've seen!

The main thing is that it is an open concept. Sure, you've got little space, but any sized place can feel small depending on how you use the space. You could have a giant house but if it's filled to the brim with dressers and couches and tables, with those tops being cluttered with silly things,it's going to feel small. If you have less stuff and keep things tidy, it really doesn't matter how small a place you live in. I've been living here for a year and a half, and my old bedroom at my moms still looks like someone lives there, because I didn't bring stuff I don't need, and I have never missed anything! Except maybe my mom.

Anyways, I got a little carried away. Here are some tiny houses I've been loving.

compareskiphire: Malissa’s Tiny House - I would love one of these as a studio/guest house.

What kind of house/apartment do you live in?

Work space inspiration

The past year I have spent blogging and building my handmade business. Of course, my work space consists of binders, laptops and misc boxes randomly placed throughout my apartment. AKA I need a creative work space! For christmas, my mother-in-law gave me a beautiful wooden desk, AND SHE PAINTED IT BRIGHT TURQUOISE FOR ME. I love her. This means that now all I need is some shelves and a desk!

I've been searching the sacred Pinterest for work space ideas, I think I have enough ideas to make about 50 areas.

Here are my favourite!
(I want every single print that's on the wall in the first one!)

I just love black and white ! LOVE it.

A thought for today

The past month I've been spending a lot of time figuring out how much money I need to survive and what I really need in my life. So after a series of unfortunate events at my work, I decided to quit. BAM. I did it. I quit my job. Well, one of them. Despite losing a third of my income, I feel that I'm much better off this way. (Plus I'm still a student, so being broke is just the norm).

The point of this is I realized I don't actually need all the money I make, and I cherish my time more then I cherish having tons of extra money to spend on meaningless things.  I really liked the quote and it was connected to me quitting my job so I thought I would ramble on  share it with you.

I hope the quote struck a cord with you as it did with me!
