Leibster Nomination part 2

The lovely, lovely Jen, AKA Alien Babe nominated me for the Liebster Award. But when I had originally posted I couldn't see her blog, so I couldn't see her questions! Here are my late, but completed questions from her. Thanks again Jen!

1.  What is your favorite makeup brand?
Honestly? Whatever is on sale.

2.  What places have you traveled to?  What were they like?  Or where would you like to go?
I've been to the states, Mexico and Prince Edward Island! I loved PEI particularly. For our next trip, Dusty and I are going to see the Red tree woods. Woot woot!

3.  Tell us about your favorite book.

My absolute favourite book is unofficial biography of Jim Morrison. What a wonderful, crazy man!

4.  How would you describe your fashion sense?

Hipster grunge. I know people cringe at the word of "hipster" but it's like the good old saying, it's not punk to call yourself punk. Utter bollocks !

5.  How and why did you get into blogging?

I followed some great blogs, but non of them were exactly what i was looking for. So I figured, hey! There must be more people out there thinking the same thing. So here I am! Blogging away since March.

6.  Do you have any special talents?

I can lick my elbow and I play classical piano. Not at the same time though.

7.  What kind of music do you like?  Who's your favorite band or artist?  Favorite song?

I like blues, folk, anti folk and old school punk. My favourite band is First Aid Kit. Their live, acoustic version of Tangerine is my favourite song! But I'm also a huge fan of The Cure.

8.  Do you have a significant other?  Tell us about them.  If not, what do you look for in a partner?

I do! His name is Dusty and he's wonderful. He's the biggest Beatles and Zepplin fan ever, and he's got hippy hair.

9.  Show us your favorite outfit.

Anything that ends with this!

10.  If you were to describe yourself as an animal, which animal would you be?

A fox! Lovely and sly.

I've been really enjoying botanical jewelry. Everything! Leaf rings, flower earrings - the pendants with real plants in them are beautiful! I've always been a lover of all things natural, and there's just something about plan jewelry. Or plant anything really.

It's official! I've found the perfect purse

And her name is Tuenno. No really, that's what the purse is called. See it here. It's so beautiful and simple. I have been on the search for the perfect purse since I was six. It's a bit pricey though, $60. Ugh. Why does everything beautiful have to be so expensive?! I don't even care. I'm buying it.

The Liebster Award nomination!

The beautiful Jen Parkhurst-Payne has nominated for the Liebster award. Thank you girl! I'm glad people actually read my blog as opposed to just follow it.  Now, up until now I've never even heard of it. But I've googled it enough times in the past half hour to be a Liebster award professor. This award is given to bloggers who have less than 200 followers but that "deserve to have many more."

                                                             

According to The Library Gals, there are some rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, (which is a silly rule because I'd hope people would do it anyways!)
2. Post eleven facts about yourself.

3. Answer the eleven questions your nominator asked ( I didn't have any questions, so if you all have questions for me, shoot away!)
4. Create eleven questions for your nominees.
5. Nominate 5 to 11 blogs of 200 followers or less whom you feel deserves the award and leave a comment on their blog letting them know you've done that.

6. Display the logo.

Alright! Seems pretty simple to me!

* I have two pet rats, a snake and a cat.

*Despite being very outgoing and sociable, I actually enjoy being a hermit more.
*I am very religious. Most people are actually surprised to hear this when they know me.*I read, a lot.

*I write poetry really well. But I've only ever let one person read my stuff.

Road trip essentials

I don't know about you, but I LOVE road trips. Especially when the end location is a beautiful. I'm a lover of traveling and wild adventures. And every wanderer needs their essentials to pack! Here are my personal road trip essentials:
                        
Comfy ass clothes. I don't mean sweat pants and ugg boots (Which I hate ), cute clothes that are comfy are a must!

Next, which is probably the most important item on the list is a mixtape! Throw on some Lady Gaga or Black Keys, any good music or party music that will get you pumped up !



Some yummy yummy treats. I love fancy sandwiches and cheetos.

I map to where your going! This is a must. I love physical maps, not iphone apps. Then you can pen out your journey and star key places to stop.


A camera! Obviously you need one for any kind of trip.

Comfy blankets and pillows. Who knows when you'll want to snooze or stop at a Tim Hortons for the night to sleep.

Water! Lots and lots of water. Try infused water with flavour. My personal is cucumber mint.


A notebook to tape all your receipts and postcards you collect on the way. Write down where you went, what you did, what you saw, everything!


Writing all this makes me want to go on a trip! My in-laws went to Spain for a family reunion. (Apparently many English people retire to Spain, who knew!) but sadly we couldn't go, next time I'll make sure of it!

Artist Spotlight: Andie's Specialty Sweets

I can across Andie's Specialty Sweets accidentally, and I am beyond shocked. Their products are so beautiful and so stunning and realistic. I don't even know what to say! They make edible decorations that can be used on cakes, deserts, cupcakes, anything you want to eat! Some of them are fondont, some art chocolate filled. I'm seriously contemplated getting married right now just so I can have the most beautiful cake in the world with these decorations.

Shark week: Fashion Edition

It's here! Shark week! It's always my favourite week of the year, but this year I love it even more because it's always my vacation week! Meaning I can sit around and play with my cat and rats and watch sharks. It also means I can look at all the beautiful fashion items with sharks on them, maybe even buy one or two or seven. Here I've collected my favourite shark pieces from Etsy.
