Vegetables that can regrow themselves.
Yes, you read the title correctly. There are indeed thirteen vegetables that can regrow themselves, and pretty much all of them are from a piece or the stem...meaning you can eat most of it and then regrow it again! whaaat! I know, I know, I'll let that sink in. Infinite food supply? possibly. Probable? No. Magical? Most definatly. It's probably much easier to go to the grocery store, and you will probably die if you depend on the regrowth on eating...but it's fun to watch! And it's a fun family activity for kids!
I couldn't help but add this adorable etsy print
Here are the magical vegetables, click each name to go to instructions on growing care:
1. Ginger Root
2. Scallions
3. Garlic
4. Sweet Potato
5. Lettuce
6. Bok Choy
7. Carrots
8. Onions
9. Pineapple
10. Basil
11. Lemongrass
12. Avocado
13. Celery
Some of these take much longer to do...as in ten years longer...but a year you can easily do in your kitchen. I have green onions growing in a beer pint on top of my stove. It grows like a weed!
I'm a sucker for stuff like this.
Peace.

Song of the Day: Shake it Out by Florence and the Machine
I know this song isn't new, but I never know what's new. I listen to the same 200 songs I did five years ago, I can't help it! Florence and the Machine has been one of my favourite bands for a couple years now. Not a day goes by where I don't listen to atleast one of the songs. Shake it out has been on repeat all day!
Florence Welch's voice is a beautiful woman with an equally beautiful voice. So strong and bold.
I don't even care that this song is old. I still love it just as much as when I first heard it.

Mintsperation: Mint Etsy Finds
See what I did the title?
Mint is a colour that has been around forever, but in recent years has really been gaining popularity! I know, I know, it's a well over used colour that everyone blogs about, but I just can't help but share these lovely mint items I found on Etsy.

Artist Spotlight: Janis Nicolay
Janis Nicolay is a photographer I found on Poppytalk - which is a great website if you haven't heard of it.
Most of her work is simply and light. I haven't seen any portraits or even people in her work. I like it a lot - very natural and simply. Check out her work below and definatly check out her blog where she has all her work.

Weekly Round Up: Grapfruit and Raspberry Dessert Recipes
This weeks dessert them is raspberry and grapefruit! Two of my favourite flavours. All of these look so pretty I'd be afraid to eat them. I love eating exciting desserts, but i'm so damn lazy about cooking them
I want to try all of them. They all look so tasty. Don't tell anyone but I have never had a macaron before! Let alone make one, I'm thinking that's something on this weeks agenda.
Peace.
Rowan.

Mother's Day is here: Gifts to make her smile without breaking the bank
Well, Mother's Day is less then a month away! I know for a lot of people - myself included - often forget about Mother's Day until about a week before and run around trying to find something. It's not a birthday or Christmas where you're always prepared....right? Anyways, here are some great etsy finds that are great for mothers day.
This is the second most greatest thing ever made besides cheesecake.
I'm tempted to buy this necklace for myself!
So true! My mom is my best friend - although I don't live with her.
This actually seems like a really nice spa kit! It would be great for any lady in your life, even yourself.
This custom initial cutting board is adorable! It would be great for a newly wed couple as well.
These heart stud earrings are actually really precious.

I personally love etsy for anything I need. I believe in buying handmade and from small businesses - even local if you can! These items are great, I think I'm going to buy the spa kit for my mom, but I'm still looking!.

Let's all just take a moment to appreciate boiled egg timers
If you're like me, you've pondered over how long to boil an egg for hard, medium and soft middles. Do I put the egg in after it's boiled? Or put it in and then boil it? After it's boiled do I turn off the heat or lowers it? Or do I remove it from the hot element all together?
For me, getting the perfect egg is: A + B (X-Y) x C = hard boiled egg if you stand on your head and count to 2000. But with egg timers, add you boiled the eggs the red part slowly turns yellow, and you removed the eggs once the yellow has gone to the line of how soft or hard you want it.
Meaning I can have a hard boiled egg everyday without worrying about getting a soft centre.

And that's not even the best part! The best part is it cost an entire $1. Not kidding! One dollar! You can pick it up at the local dollarstore, Walmart or Target. Go, I'll wait here while you run out and buy one. No seriously, go.

This isn't a bucket list, if it were it probably be 200 things as opposed to 20. This is 20 major goals/things I want to do by the time I'm thirty, so that gives me about ten years to do them all. Some are goals, others are things that I want to continually do and work on.

DIY Round up: This weeks favourite tutorials
I just love DIYs, I have folders full of hundreds and hundreds of tutorials that I've collected over the years that I want to try, but lets face it, we did all the crafts we lust over we'd be jobless and homeless. However, we'd probably have a wonderful collection of accessories and handmade goodness.
Here are a few of my favourite DIY's !
This fabric rug tutorial is genius! You can create perfect rugs just for you.
I love finding tutorials on making house stuff, jewelry and fashion because A) it's fun B) it's much cheaper then buying the item and C) You can create perfect and unique pieces that you wouldn't be able to find in stores.
Here are a few of my favourite DIY's !
A polka dot umbrella! I wish I actually used my umbrella so I could do this.
A vertical succulent garden. They moment I move out of my closet sized apartment I'm doing this.
I'm not a fan of orange at all, but I love the design! Make your own geometric tote bag.
