2014: A year in selfies.

Now, I am in no way a big selfie person. In fact, I need to take more (and better) photos of myself. Here are my favourite - and almost all - my 2014 selfies!

Let's go Blue Jays!!

For my graduation present I bought myself a diamond septum ring,! So in love with it!

I really wanted to wear my mermaid costume for halloween but I figured the pub is no place for a delicate sequin and tulle skirt.

Favourite shorts ever! It's so weird seeing my legs without the new tattoos.

This is indeed a pink cheetah onsies with ears on the hood. So comfy! I wear it about 8 times a week,.

My Black Milk skater skirt and top are soo comfy and amazing! Yes, it's brains. I can't wait to find the perfect reason to wear it! Probably not until next halloween but it will be amazing.

Show me your favourite selfie!

DIY Roundup

I know I've been lacking in the DIY posts, I can only blame pure laziness. That and the fact that finding good tutorials has been hard lately! Nobody seems to be doing many unique things. Anyways, these are what I have come up with ! I LOVE the marbles mug and amethyst mirror. I think I need both of them in my life ASAP.

Make this beautiful amethyst mirror!

DIY: Etched Wooden Spoons. No paint, so they're food safe! | Design Mom

DIY Coffee Blend

I love coffee as much as the next 'gal, but you know what I love even more? Fancy coffee; French vanilla, hazelnut topped with whipped cream...the works. So after buying pre-made coffee blends (and by that I mean instant mix because I'm a lazy lady), I decided to make my own. You can even wrap it up nicely as a gift!

Coffee Tea Print Typography I like big cups - 11x14 Poster wall art decor kitchen Starbucks white cup mustard yellow brown tan taupe. , via Etsy.

You will need:
Four vanilla beans
Cinnamon and/or nutmeg 2 tsp
1 lb freshly ground coffee beans

Deciding whether to use cinnamon or nutmeg in your blend is a personal choice, I like nutmeg but others don't. Or make one of each!

Another choice is what type of coffee beans! I like medium fair trade coffee from Kenya,

1. Mix two teaspoons of your choice
Into a pound of freshly ground coffee beans,
2. Scrape the seeds from the vanilla beans and mix them into the blend as we (just slice it up the side and open it, then scrape away!).

How to use fresh vanilla beans

What do you think?

Cheers!

Books I'm Reading (Or Plan to Read)

So, I'm not going to lie. I just spent the last few months reading the entire series of True Blood. And I loved it! Now I want to dive into reading new books. These are the ones I have set aside to read, if I remember, I'll do a review!

So, this book was suggested by a friend. Despite it's cheerful cover, apparently it isn't so sweet! It's based in Manhattan's dark underbelly, with a surreal and shocking world has alter egos and is basically a tragic romantic comedy. Sounds like my cup of tea!

Chuck Palahnuik is one of my favourite authors! I first read Survive and it was one of the best books I've read. I'm sure this one will be too! It's based on the life of Busy Casey, one of the worlds most famous serial killers.

I'm not too sure what this book is about. The only reason I want to read it is because the trailer for the movie looks really good! It was one of Angelina Jolies indie movies she did in the 90's. (Like Hacker, I LOVE that movie!)

I am not myself these days: A Memoir , by Josh Kilmer-Purcell.
Rant: The Oral Biography of Busty Casey, by Chucl Palahniuk
Girl, Interrupted. by Susanna Kaysen,

What books are you Reading?

DIY Roundup: heels

I was never a heel girl, I wore Doc Martens to all weddings and dates until my graduation prom where I bought my first pair and immediately regretted not have buying them soon. Now I try to make up excuses just to wear them,

Like most girls, I have a lot of simple heels. After doing a little digging I found some AMAZING upgrades that I will be doing to all my schools. These are even good for boots!

THIS tutorial is so easy! Plus it's really cheap to do. I have a lot of simple heels that could use a little pop like this.

This diy takes a simply pair of heels and turns them into a stylish punk pair! I love them.

this DIY is the most crazy one! They're like chandelier heels! I'm not sure If I hate them or love them.

I'm not a big bling sort of gal, but This diy is so lovely, it adds enough stones to make a statement, without being overwhelming!

Are you going to be upgrading your heel collection? I will be!

Things I like: Tacky Aldo Purses

I have a bag problem, I LOVE bags. What I love even more than regular purses is tacky, statement purses. Recently, Aldos came out with a line of statement purses. I love all of them! What's even better is that they are ALL ON SALE! Seriously, I'm pretty sure all of them are now $20-30 . Seriously. I think I might have to buy them all.
This one is was the first one to catch my eye! I can't think of an occasion when I could wear it, but I still want it!

I couldn't see myself wearing this one, but I still think its pretty awesome!
I've been seeing perfume purses around lately, but this one is actually affordable, and by affordable I mean I could buy one with my lunch money.

This  candy heart purse is so cute! It comes in pastel yellow and pink as well!!

Which one is your favourite? I think I might get the first one!

***Disclaimer! I was not paid for this ad, I wrote them post simply because I friggen love these purses. They just happen to be all from Aldo. ****

Home Inspiration

If any of you follow me on my Pinterest, you know how crazy my "home" board is. Home boy? These are some pins I've been loving lately, I've really been digging simple space with lots of white, and the occasional bohemian splash, like the tiles in the this bathroom, I NEED it.

Artist Spotlight: Tarmasz Tatoo

Tarmasz is an artist based out of Paris, France. She is an illustrator and tattoo artist who creates folky, dreamy work. I would fly to Paris JUST to get tattooed by her. (I have a running list in my head of global artists I want to ink me!). Here are my favourite tattoos that she has done, I LOVE the cuckoo clock one.

ich spreche deutsch

Well, not really. But I can now ask for a cup of coffee or glass of wine properly with an iffy accent, as well as tell someone I am a boy, girl or man.
I've always wanted to learn a second language  -  specifically German or Russian. After doing some research and finding out that Russian is one of the hardest languages to learn, I decided on Deutsch (German).

I am going to be honest, I did absolutely zilch research on the best online program for learning German. I tried Duolingo, and I've enjoyed it so far, but I wanted to learn more about sentence structure, so I then started doing Memrise. I LOVE it, it uses memory techniques to help you, well, remember. It has really helped me. TONS. I use both memrise and duolingo now but memrise is my main go to.

Who here is more skilled than I am and know more than one language??

Artist Spotlight: Anton Konashuk

Anton Konashuk is a photographer who creates wonderful stories.
If you have yet to see Konashuk, prepare to be amazed! His work is so beautiful and raw and full of emotions. See all his other work
here

This set is my favourite one, it tells such a sad, lovely story.
(The story sort of reminds me of a one night stand!)
