Traveler's Tree

Pendant from Traveler's Tree
Traveler's Tree business card design
My lovely business card design
Traveler's Tree is my business! I recently just began selling on Etsy, but before I had spent a few years selling at craft shows with my mother. Everything is handmade by me! I run the shop, design the pieces, ship the items, do the marketing and shop 'upkeep.'
I love everything about owning a business and doing everything involved with it by myself. Once it grows to the point where I'll need to hire help, i don't know what I'll do!

Song of the moment: First Aid Kit - Lion's Roar

First Aid Kit: Lion's Roar

First Aid Kit is a Swedish folk duo, and one of my favourite bands for that past couple years. They make great music, have beautiful strong voices and know how to dress. The Lion's Roar is a song I've been playing a lot recently, and if you have the chance I would strongly recommend checking out the video for it. In fact, check out all their music videos. You won't be disappointed.

Spring weather is almost here!

Pinned Image

I know technically spring started quit a while ago, but it seems here that spring weather doesn't happen until  May. I don't know about you, but I hate winter. It seems from September 1st until May we just have crappy weather. Snow on the ground for much of that time and I am not a snow person. I know, I am a bad Canadian. Hating snow. But seriously, I live for the summer. Sadly we get about three months of solid summer weather, other then that I think everyone should just go into hibernation.
But alas! Spring time is almost here, time to slowly stop wearing heavy coasts and hats, and time for actually going outside! Here are some spring inspirations off pinterest  Pinned Image
Pastel colours and raspberries!

I just love fresh berries, I live right by the farmers market so that means fresh berries every week!

Flowers! Flowers are one of my top five favourite things in life.

Grapefruit orange juice, hmmm. Check out the link below for instructions!

I love everything that comes with spring. Especially fashion! I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one whose fashion sense goes into hibernation during the cold winter weather.

An easy recipe: Vegan Peanut Butter

I love making homemade peanut butter, it's one of my favourite things. It's much cheaper and always much more delicious!

(I know it looks like shredded brown coconut, but its actually creamy and delicious!)

I've tried all sorts of different ways to make peanut butter - not that
they differ all too much. But this is my favourite way.

Ingrediants:
1. 16 ounces of dry roasted peanuts

2. 1 tablespoon olive oil
3. 1 tablespoon honey (this is optional, and for those of you that are not vegan)

You will also need an oven and blender/food processor. Food processors are better. But I don't have one and haven't really have a problem using my $30 Walmart blender.

First, you'll want to set your oven to about  350 F.

Then take all your peanuts and spread them out on a cooking sheet.

Like this!

Once the oven has preheated stick your sheet into the stove and set the timer for 7 minutes.
Make sure to give the pan a shake every couple minutes.
My oven doesn't have a timer so I used my microwaves!
When they come out they'll look greasy, but that's good! Just the peanut oils coming out.

Then, stick them in the food processor/blender and blend ! Once the peanuts are crumbly add the olive oil (and honey!) and continue to mix, you might have to give it a bit of a mix with a fork every couple minutes, the peanut/oil ratio likes to stay under the blades, for those of you with a blender!

Mmmmmmm.  Peanut butter.
Stick it in a mason jar or any container you have lying around. For top results stick it in the fridge for a week or two before putting in the pantry.
And just like all natural peanut butters the oil and spread will separate, but that's natural! Just give it a mix, or what I do is keep my jar upside down.

Now don't forget, as this is basically just pure peanut butter - not like store bought pb where there's like half a tube o'butter in each jar - so it's going to be very strong and raw tasting. Now I love that! But a lot of people still prefer good ol' store bought pb, which is still okay, but not as tasty in my opinion - or fun.

There are all sorts of ways to make peanut butter, you can even try replacing the peanuts for hazelnuts and make hazelnut spread! I know I am going to!

I love all of these! I think i pick things out mostly for their colour, but I always adore pastel cookies or amazing house things.  I'm slowly making our apartment a greenhouse, one flower at a time!

This is the most truthful and relevant thing I have ever read.

I found this in Thought Catalog, and it is the most truthful and relevant thing I have ever read.

via Pinterest

1. If you can do something about it, fight like hell. If you can’t? Take a deep breath, and accept it. Even if that means accepting that you don’t like it and you won’t ever be okay with it. Acceptance doesn’t mean being happy with everything.

2. “We are spiritual beings having a physical experience.”
3. Practice non-resistance. Go with the flow. Let the tides take you where they may. There’s a plan; trust it.
4. Listen to your heart. Try to slow your racing thoughts for long enough to focus on how you feel. If and when you can do so enough to just listen to your feelings, solely your gut and your instinct, you’ll have the answer you’re looking for.
5. There is always a way. There is never a reason to feel hopeless. As long as you are willing to do your part to make your life what you want it to be, there will be people there to help you along the way.
6. Stop comparing.
7. Judging others doesn’t define them. It defines you as someone who needs to compartmentalize people.
8. Don’t bash what you hate, promote what you love.
9. This too shall pass. That means that whatever problem you feel as though you’ll never get over will be completely irrelevant in a few days, weeks, months, years. You’ll have new problems to fill your time. But do you know what that also means? The wonderful things that you’ve been neglecting to enjoy right now will also pass. And you’ll miss them.
10. What you need to concern yourself with most is the love and compassion you give to others. All others. The people who seem like they least deserve love need it most.
11. The past and the future are but illusions in the present moment.
12. When you start caring about what “people” think, think about someone in particular. Someone you are very close to, someone whose opinion actually matters. Does this person care about what you think “people” are judging you for? Chances are, no, they don’t. And guess what… that person would classify as one of the “people” in the world. Think about who these faceless judgmental demons are that haunt you. You’ll find, many times, they’re figments of your imagination.
13. People are more jealous than you’d think. Of what they can’t have and can’t be. Don’t let ‘em get you down.
